Patrick Mahomes is supposed to be a game-changer.
The rarest of diamonds in the National Football League is a franchise quarterback. Some teams are willing to move mountains, or at least a mountain of draft picks, in order to get their man. Fan bases suffering through years of deplorable options are always glad to see a front office take a chance, even if it comes at a high price. There’s simply no substitute for a franchise QB.
The Chiefs paid the price this offseason, moving two first round picks and a third round choice in order to take Patrick Mahomes from Texas Tech.
