Veteran running back Matt Forte will be looking for a new home once the NFL's free-agency period opens in March.
On Friday, he announced the end of his run with the Chicago Bears in an emotional Instagram post.
"Despite my wishes, my days as a member of the Chicago Bears have sadly come to an end," Forte wrote. "I was informed earlier this week from the [general manager] that they will not be attempting to re-sign me in free agency."
Bears general manager Ryan Pace confirmed the news.
"We recently met with Matt to inform him we will not extend a contract offer for the 2016 season," Pace said, per ESPN.
